Authority is a important quality to display on your website, blog and other marketing materials. One of the best and simplest way to give your articles authority is to add an author bio to each of them. An author biography is just a short paragraph and photo of the author at the end of the article which helps connect the reader to the author.

Writing a good author bio is not too difficult if you follow these basic guidelines:
- Include a clear headshot.
- Frame yourself as an expert.
- Qualify your expertise with experience, awards, degrees or any other recognitions.
- Link to your social networks in order to attract followers.
- Keep it short - three of four sentences is enough.
Your photo is important and you want to follow the same rules as for any profile photo you would use on your social networks:
- Show only your head.
- Crop out background noise and other people.
- Try to get a photo with a plain white background.
- Adjust the contrast and color levels so that black is pure black and white is pure white.
- If you have a professional profile photo, use that!
To add a bio to your articles with our software you just need to do two steps:
- Complete your author profile and bio by clicking the user image at the top right of the screen.
- Select the "Show Author Bio" option when you create or edit your content.
